Still the same upgrade price, and no bundle upgrades. Thanks but no...

$49 upgrade? Lol. Good luck with that, buddy.
i bought version one out of sheer curiosity hence chromaphone and lounge lizard are really great. it was a very underwhelming thing tbh. i wouldnt even buy it now for 49bucks. i got vcv rack which is out of the ballpark compared to this one. and cherry audios voltage modular and nope no way i ever upgrade multiphonics for 50bucks. they should have redone tassman

Yeh they are so far behind the pack it seems almost pointless starting....I agree, everyone wanted Tassman 2, no one wanted a very basic modular.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I won' try to convince anyone they need to use Multiphonics or that it's worth the price, but it's become one of my favorite modular playgrounds. VAZ Modular is my all time favorite, I have also used MUX, Reaktor, Voltage, VCV, KarmaFX, and many others.

Yes it is not polyphonic or Tassman v2 or an open system. I like the limitations and tend to make make weird clock/logic/pulse contraptions with it that have little to with "music" per se. Scope module was absolutely essential, looking forward to checking out the other bits as well.

Fellow CV users: If you think the patching area needs to be bigger, please email support and request it. I ask them periodically but they never respond and I don't think they are seriously considering it. Maybe if enough people write to them they'll do something about it. It's really my only complaint after the latest update. I like the UI/UX and I'm perfectly happy with the module limitations. I just really want to be able to place more modules and make more complex patches.

Update: I got a really nice response from AAS. They understand the frustration. It sounds like I'm not the only person who's asked, and they keep track of votes for feature requests. The concern has always been they want to make sure people on older computers have a good experience, so they don't want to make it too easy to overload your computer. I get it... But if others are like me and have a newer computer with plenty of CPU to spare, let them know. I am optimistic we will be accommodated if we give them feedback and we're patient.

Done!

At the moment I'm thinking about, how I can split my patches/ideas into separate parts. Maybe it's not as worse, as I fear.

It's a damn shame that AAS killed their modular platform only to start a new one from scratch. I can't get very excited about this because I just think it'll get scrapped right when it starts getting really cool. I really love digital modular setups. If they had all the old tassman modelling modules in this, I would have already given in and bought it.

I loved Tassman and wish it was still being developed but really it was less of a modular synth in the Eurorack sense and more of a synth/effect building environment, although less low level than Reaktor and more specialised for physical modelling.

Multiphonics is really very different and even if Tassman was still a viable product I think it would sit alongside it as a product in its own right. Multiphonics is much more a Virtual Eurorack like Cherry Audio modular and Softube Modular, although not as open as Cherry's and easier to use than the Softube one. It can do some very nice setups with some interesting Buchlaesque and PM oriented modules. I think if people stop comparing it to Tassman and approach on its own terms you may get more out of it.

I understand what they're going for, but as a company that (in my brain at least) was built on physical modeling, not launching your modular synth with all the guts of your physical modeling synths, past and present, available as modules, is crazy to me. Having tassman stall out right after I bought it really just sort made me skeptical of AAS. I really like modular environments from reaktor to pure data to VCV to supercollider. I am a big fan of being able to just make something if I can't find it implemented in something I own or that's available. I'm more getting to the point where I don't really believe that there are many developers who are actually pushing the envelope with DSP and I already have amazing tools every which way. "Virtual Euro rack" is also a pretty crowded market and I'm not seeing anything in cv-2 (ultra low CPU, ultra nice sound, lots of cool physical models, really flexible but simple handling of buffers) that give me an inkling of it being the bees' knees'.

How does cv-2 handle feedback paths? That's a place where many many modular setups on the computer fall down or restrict things to a full buffer of latency rather than having a specific "feedback module" that adds a unit delay. I'd think that AAS would have a good grasp on coding efficient complex feedback networks with many interacting parts in a reasonably efficient manner.
Does it have a nice buffer module that can be forced into granular playback or insane multi tap delays. Does it treat all signals equally during processing without having to differentiate at all between digital (gate/trigger), control (low frequency/DC) and audio? I'm sure it's capable of lots of fun things. The plugin world is amazing and I'm stoked to have access to all this stuff.
The marketing of this doesn't even make me want to demo it alongside VCV or the grid or even soft I've modular (which I kind of consider a waste of money). I'm sure I'll get bored enough to try it out one day and maybe it will blow my socks off. That's what happened to me with zebra....

it was a waste of money. i almost never used it since then.

It seems like some of their development team left the company, only leaving the one mathematician guy to do the R&D/Dev. Not much progress has been made a long time, only updates and preset packs seem to be rolling out for a while now.
