bought it eventually. after some demoing, next to VM, Softube Modular, Reaktor 6 (and a lot of Block Packs) and VCV 2, it has it is own place. it sounds pretty good, and can be quite an experimental synth, that is my personal goal.
and MPE works well.
and the low CPU, did i mention it sounds pretty good, even very good. enough to explore with.
did i need it, per se, no, will i use it, and get results that i like; yes!
nice also all the visual feedback options. it is thought through. i like that. can it do all, no, but well, i have other soft synths..
i believe i made the right decision, that it will be an addition..

Anybody thinks filters sound great in this software? Just demoed it and find them raw and beefy.
The GUI looks rather dated though.
I used to be a fan of VAZ Modular, mainly for its sound. Shame it's not available anymore.

my first impression good sounding filters, for this particular synth. but must explore more.
gui dated? perhaps, but it is logical, lot of overview, visual feedback. the modules themselve self-explaining.
like the gui.
but how filters sound and the gui... personal me think..

I like the workflow of KarmaFX and the UI is very intuitive. And the sound of the osc have some "hardware vibe". With the additional synthesis types (additive, sampler, granular sampler, FM), and the others modules, i find its a great tool. I'm not a great sound designer, but KarmaFX is fun to program.

Is there a repo somewhere with user patches? I can't find anything, and the included patches don't seem to showcase the full potential of the synth. Of course the point is to program your own stuff, however I'm just demoing it still would like to test something more compelling. For example, I'd be interested in more additive, granular and FM patches.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

The dev should definitely look for somebody to make more varied audio demos, and provide some extra demo patches. This thing is a no brainer at 39 USD though

Yes, you're right. I did a rapid quick audio demo with some presets (not EDM) :

The dev is a friendly bloke and I'm sure he'd welcome any demos or patch contributions.
I'm sooo bummed I'm going to miss this sale, such a no-brainer at this price.
I think kFX Modular sounds amazing since V2, and when you look at all the audio processing it can do as a vst effect it's extremely deep. I hope this sale gives the kFX community a bit of a boost, new presets, new skins, new enthusiastic users

Capitalism is a cancer of the human mind, as with all authoritarianisms. It opulently gluttonizes the selfish and carelessly starves the meek. It consumes Mother Earth and Humanity unhealthily, currently.
