Can't get plugins to chain in Ableton (force effect?)

Piz,

Came across your plugs today, dynamic stuff. I'm trying to use your channel filter to allow me to route different input devices (several controllers) to different parts of the same Ableton drum rack.

To do this, I need Live to recognize the plug as a midi (VST) effect, not as an instrument. I tried messing with the config file, but to no avail. Could you provide a more detailed explanation of how to get ableton to see these plugs as effects (and able to be daisy chained)?

Unfortunately, Live doesn't let you use VSTs that way, or if it does I haven't been able to figure out how. Loading them as instruments is the only way I could get them to work. Also, you may not be able to do channel filtering because Live forces all MIDI to channel 1 on input.
