First, thank you for midiChords and the entire pizmidi collection.

I was playing with midiProbability and it's close to what I need. It's working just as described, but I was hoping for a bit more control.

My suggestion is to assign a probability to each of 16 steps. Each step would have a percentage slider (0 - 100) or text box for manual entry (again 0 to 100). At 100% the step would always play. At 0%, never.

In this example, only MIDI notes on the quarter beats would be played:

Code: Select all

Step Pct
  1: 100
  2: 0
  3: 0
  4: 0
  5: 100
  6: 0
  7: 0
  8: 0
  9: 100
 10: 0
 11: 0
 12: 0
 13: 100
 14: 0
 15: 0
 16: 0
In this example, MIDI notes on the quarter beats are always played. Notes on the 1/8 beats are played 50 percent of the time. The 1/16th notes in the last 2 beats are played 33 percent of the time:

Code: Select all

Step Pct
  1: 100
  2: 0
  3: 50
  4: 0
  5: 100
  6: 0
  7: 50
  8: 0
  9: 100
 10: 33
 11: 50
 12: 33
 13: 100
 14: 33
 15: 50
 16: 33
I hope this makes sense. I also hope a plugin can detect what beat is being played from the host.
