You made me look! Here's the quote:
Updates for XO (some of them coming really soon) are always going to be free.

So if it is 2.0 it sounds like it will be a free update. But more likely imo it will be point updates.

Nice! Let's hope we get something significant and worth updating for even if it be a point update.

Please let it be an update to their sequencer! Plenty of other things worthy of updates, but that’s the one that annoys me the most. Fun sequencer but should allow for longer sequences.

Hope they have been reading XO related posts/suggestions on KVR.

Agree. I wonder why the developers bother to release sample/preset packs for XO and Atlas. Is anyone reading this thread buying either of these programs for their built-in or expansion content?

XLN have said XO updates are "coming soon" on their IG for years.

But hey, now it's "really soon".

I got two packs and they're okay. But the main problem here for XLN is that they built XO to be the tool to make use of the user's own samples. So most users don't want curated sets in the first place. What I AM interested in are grooves (or the ability to import midi). I use those two packs, but the samples themselves are almost irrelevant.

IMO XLN have the best cloud, but a mediocre drum machine hosting it. From the arbitrary 12 slot limit to the 4/4 only two measure sequencer it's just a sketch pad. Had they implemented a decent sequencer like Geist, and/or given a healthy selection of FX plugins like Battery it would be the de facto drum machine for many of us.

It's such a huge miss though, creative types that want to design their own kits with a cloud are also likely to want to take it further with decent built in FX and a sequencer not just aimed at four on the floor.

XO feels to me like XLN got the basic idea for a great drum sequencer working and then...just walked away.

Exactly, I gave up on the sequencer and just use XO as drum hit finder mostly, toss the results into Battery and be done with it. Atlas doesn't have as good of a cloud, otherwise I would use it instead, since it can do odd time signatures, you can live record directly into it's drum sequencer etc.

I'm still fingers crossed for TRIAZ gaining MIDI out. I use Atlas too, particularly for building quick sets of cymbals or toms to augment whatever main drum kit I'm using in other programs.

I've got an MPC for most drum machine duties, but I like XO for the cloud, and sometimes need to use Battery and Kontkat for drums when the MPC 2 software VST is acting up.

I like getting the actual MIDI into my DAW DP, I've got the Launchpad with it's built in drum sequencer, Betstep Pro et. if I'm using Live or Bitwig I'm using the Push 2 and their drum plugins and sequencers etc. So to me the main thing is dedicated drum FX and stability, at this point that's going to be Battery.

Honestly if you could load XO as just the cloud and drag results directly into Battery with no steps in between etc. that would be the best to me.

An update for XO just hit the streets.. installing now.

Edit: no apparent changes... no changelog published.. nvm
