I'm just using the presets for the moment as I try and learn this. The snare is assigned to D1 by default. When I press the key (and it's the right key because it's flashing in the midi eitor in Reaper at the right key) I hear nothing. If I try and change the assigned key, say to C#1) I see nothing indicating it's changed and no sound when I press that key.
Also I have recorded some kick, which plays fine when i press the key. What I hear back is something completely different. It now seems to be playing one of the sample tones from the preset.
I have tried restarting the plug in, and starting it afresh on a completely new project to no avail.
I do not understand what is happening.

I just opened it and got that preset (Game Toys_. Their D1 is to me D3 - midi note number 38.
(I'm anti 'octave naming' - midi note numbers all the way
)
When I change the note - via their big display - to D4. the GUI is updated. Now plays the snare position by that new key.
NOTE the GUI position being triggered is shown in the volume bar...
