SKnote releases Roundtone Multitrack Tape Emulation v2.0.1

10th February 2011

SKnote has released version 2.0.1 of Roundtone.

roundtone_2-0-1.jpg This new version is a complete redesign of the original "tape emulation" concept included in the first version. It is now a full multi-track, multi-machine recording system.

Several instances, placed on different tracks, groups or on the master bus can be linked as parts of the same tape machine. Common parameters are linked and can be set from any instance. All the instances on the same machine can be bypassed or activated from any interface, too.

Any host can be used as a virtual tape-recording system. Another major improvement is the new dual-mode oversampling mode.

Hi-quality (non linear phase, IIR) and Super-quality (linear phase, FIR) oversampling can be activated, for realtime processing or just automatic on export (for lower CPU load).

New algorithms have been added to the list, including new 7.5ips and "dirty" (more rich harmonic content) modes. Roundtone v2.0.1 is available as a free update for existing users (delivered by email), and for $19.99 as a single product for new users or $29.99 bundled with the upcoming "Presence" multimode exciter.

Mac VST and Win 64-bit versions have been announced and will be available soon.
