Samples From Mars has released Found Sounds From Mars, a collection of foley and acoustic sound FX in different natural environments. The collection includes samples of thunderstorms, vinyl, elevators, drill bursts, pepper grinders, metal pots, coins, and many others.
After recording the samples were tube saturated, re-pitched on tape, morphed in the Lexicon Vortex, and converted to 24-bit WAV samples. The samples come in custom instruments for Ableton, Logic, and Kontakt that come with the bundle, or can be used standalone in any sampler or drum machine that accepts WAV files.

Samples From Mars also released a Free SP 1200 Sample Collection this week. KVR previously reported on the release of the paid version of the sample pack. Samples From Mars recorded samples through the warm and gritty SP-1200 sampler, famous in hip hop, house, and more among users including the Wu-Tang Clan, Outkast, and Daft Punk. Its sound results from processing samples at 26.05 kHz resulting in digital aliasing, and then pushing them through an analog filter, with subtle distortion all along the signal path.
