VSL releases Vienna Synchron Player

The Vienna Symphonic Library has announced the release of their new free Vienna Synchron Player, now fully compatible with Synchron Strings I. To mark the occasion, customers may purchase Synchron Strings I at 25% off its regular price through June 30, 2018.

Optimized Streaming Performance

The Vienna Synchron Player incorporates a new audio playback engine built from the ground up, featuring "unprecedented streaming performance while providing a new level of ease-of-use". An improved look-up function is the backbone of the player's multi-microphone playback capacities, with performance "up to 32 times faster compared to conventional sample players on the market".

The player's Perform view allows for quick access to all presets, articulations and pre-configured controllers. All of the available playing techniques – short notes, long notes with various attacks, legatos, scalable vibrato intensities, note repetitions and more – can now be accessed by a few controller movements and with minimal need of articulation switching.

The full-fledged internal mixer comes with panorama controls, an algorithmic reverb, 5-band EQ, phase switching and individual delay settings for runtime compensation of the various microphone signals.

Ready to Play – With Synchron Strings I

Synchron Strings I is Vienna's first string library recorded with the signature ambience of their 540 m² (5,813 sq.ft.) Synchron Stage Vienna. Most notes are available with 80 variations per key, offering eight dynamic layers that let users blend smoothly from pianissimo to fortissimo and everything in between.

The five string sections of Synchron Strings I – 1^st violins (14), 2^nd violins (10), violas (8), cellos (8), and double basses (6) – were recorded separately at their designated positions on stage, with eight phase-coherent microphone configurations. Users can shape their string sound individually, from close and focused, to broad and epic, mixing the signals in stereo, 5.1 surround or even 9.1 immersive audio (such as Auro 3D and Dolby Atmos).
