Sub51 releases Drop Pad 2.0 for Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol

Sub51 and Soundtrax have announced the release of Drop Pad 2.0, which adds new features to further enhance its creative possibilities.

Drop Pad, which comes with a large sample library, is a four-layer, sample-based Kontakt instrument that also supports the drag and drop import of the user's own samples. Kontakt's new MIR technology automatically detects tonal material during import and adjusts the pitch of the audio file accordingly.

The intuitive interface, which is based on four straightforward pages, then allows for the dynamic blending and modulation of the four sound sources to create multi-layered, complex sounds that morph and evolve in an organic way. Loops can be locked to the DAW tempo or replayed at the original speed.

The Edit page now contains a new sample 'Reverse' playback option for each sample pad while the sample Solo feature has been improved as well as now being available in the MOD and FX Pages. New 'MOD Preset' and 'FX Preset' panels have also been added to allow users to quickly store and switch between nine different mod and FX setups.

Additionally there are two new 'Left-Right' modes available from the 'MOD' and 'FX Warp Shape' dropdown menu. Finally a new global Hi, Mid and Lo EQ plus an additional, smooth sounding 'Drive' mode have been added to the 'FX' page.

Drop Pad 2.0 comes with a 900MB library of high quality on-board Snapshots and Samples featuring Cinematic Soundscapes, Bass and Drum Loops, Pads, Raw Textures, Sound Effects and Arps. Users can easily choose different sample combinations of the Factory content to create their own Snapshots as well as bringing in their own samples.

Komplete Kontrol is supported via selected pre-defined parameters.

Also included with Drop Pad 2.0 is an additional 123MB of waveform samples such as noise, timecode, turntable belt & electrical noise, vinyl crackles and sine waves.

Drop Pad 2.0 can be purchased at a reduced price of £27.99 while existing users of Drop Pad 1.0 can update to Drop Pad 2.0 for free (please contact Sub51 for details). The full version of NI's Kontakt 6.7.1+ is required.
