Acustica Audio has introduced Opal Comp, a new compressor/limiter plugin designed for efficiency. Opal Comp also follows the recent released of Salt, Acustica's latest 5-band Hyper3 mixing EQ.
Opal Comp is a dual-mono plugin, sampled from John Oram's Sonicomp compressor technology, offering solid-state limiter/compressor capabilities. Opal Comp comes in standard and 'ZL*' versions, with the latter operating at zero latency suitable for tracking.
The plugin's interface, featuring a pastel blue design, maintains the aesthetic appeal of the original units in the digital realm. Opal Comp is described as "delivering a smooth and clean sound", with a unique hybrid compression approach.
Key Features of Opal Comp:
Much like Opal Comp, Salt, is built on the 'Hyper' engine and designed with an emphasis on lightweight efficiency and practicality. The EQ is derived from the sampling of three vintage devices and features adjustable frequencies, aiming to retain the essence of the original hardware while allowing users more control.
Key Features of Salt EQ:
Opal Comp is available at an introductory price of €59 (Reg. €109) until November 23rd, while Salt is available €99 (Reg. €229) until November 15th. 2023.
Both plugins are available in VST, VST3, AAX, and AU formats.
