Redmatica announces Keymap v1.5 and the Redmatica Compendium v1.5 suite

18th September 2007

Redmatica has announced Keymap v1.5 and the Redmatica Compendium v1.5 suite.

Keymap v1.5 is the latest version of the Redmatica instrument editor for sampled instruments. It features seamless integration with the EXS24 sampler in Apple's Logic Pro 8, and adds more than 90 new features to its already vast arsenal. The integration with Logic is made through a new Organizer Window which shows the active editing sessions between the two applications, and you can send back and forth the instruments with a single click.

The new Batch Instrument Creator creates EXS24 instruments directly out of samples by drag and drop and is ideal for effortless construction of percussion and effect instruments. The new Tune and Pitch functions are designed to retune acoustic instrument samples to the proper pitch in order to build perfect instruments. For all the other kinds of material, the Spectral Tuner analyzes and shows the spectrum of samples, suggesting a list of candidate tunings. The list of supported file formats now includes GarageBand, Ultrabeat (.ubs) and EXS24-Monolithic, a new format where each instrument and its samples are stored in a single file. An integrated automatic MIDI patchbay, a set of Smart Switches, takes care of integrating Keymap with your Logic Pro 8 or your other preferred audio application by automatically changing MIDI routings when the application is active or in background. Keymap now also offers a Virtual MIDI input so you can play it from your sequencer and hear the sounds in context while they are edited.

The Keymap editors now offer enhanced workflows, with live layout changes, zoom freeze functions, export of the processed samples directly by drag and drop, new contextual sample editors, special parameter tweaking controls and redesigned key commands support. New functions make simple to sort zones and automap them both by DSP pitch detection, or by analyzing the sample names.

Samples can be replaced in instrument context by browsing the sample folders while playing Keymap live. Keymap 1.5 supports up to 24 channels in each sample file, for all of its functions. The non-destructive integrated sample editor now offers blended (crossfaded) cut and paste.

The Redmatica Compendium Suite v1.5 contains Keymap v1.5, and adds the ExsManager and AutoSampler applications, offering a comprehensive set of tools dedicated to sampling, and totally compatible with the most popular Mac Pro Audio applications.
