Vienna Symphonic Library releases 47 Brass and Woodwind Download Instruments

7th August 2008

The Vienna Symphonic Library has added loads of new download products to the web shop at vsl.co.at. 47 brass and woodwind instruments in the categories of Flutes & Reeds, Clarinets & Bassoons, Saxophones, Horns & Tubas and Trumpets & Trombones are now available instantly and wherever on the planet users might need them - provided they have Internet access, a credit card, and a ViennaKey. Prices start at €60.

These products let customers build their orchestras one instrument at a time, on demand and in line with their budget. The download products offer slightly more articulations per instrument than the Vienna Special Editions, but less than the big Vienna Instruments DVD Collections. Customers may also enjoy new upgrade paths that cover all DVD and download products and range from the Vienna Special Editions to the Single Instrument Downloads as well as to the big Vienna Instruments DVD Collections.

New Upgrade Paths
On July 16, 2008, the Vienna Symphonic Library introduced its new upgrade scheme, offering a wealth of possibilities for upgrades and expansions. Vienna Instruments users may expand their Vienna Special Editions (DVD or download products) by adding Single Instrument Downloads at favorable upgrade prices, or by upgrading to the big Vienna Instruments DVD collections, such as Appassionata Strings I, Special Woodwinds, or Saxophones. Moreover, customers may enjoy considerable upgrade discounts when buying the big Vienna Instruments DVD collections that contain any downloaded Single Instrument they have already registered.

Like all Vienna Instruments collections, all Single Instruments Download products are sample-based virtual instruments that support the formats VST (OS X, Win XP/Vista), RTAS (OS X), AU (OS X), and also work stand-alone. Registered users are eligible to download the free mixing and host software Vienna Ensemble 2.
