4drX has updated VirtualKeyboard to v1.3 with a standalone version.
Now you can play, slow down and visualize MIDI files on a keyboard layout without having to load a full featured DAW.
VirtualKeyboardStandalone comes with a Sampler built-in that supports SFZ instruments and offers you a free download of Alexander Holm's 'Salamander Piano' (reduced to 206MB) when you run it for the first time.
4drX have also added a new plugin: VirtualKeyboardSynth, which makes the SFZ Sampler accessible in your DAW as a VST/AU instrument.
Finally, the original MIDI effect plugin has been improved with:
- More flexible computer keyboard controls (Support QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboards as well as "1 octave" and "2 octaves" modes).
- New mouse shortcuts to select (click), mute (ctrl-click or cmd-click) or solo (alt-click) MIDI channels from their legend.
As usual, this is a free update for registered users.
