Harrison releases Mixbus32C - Next Generation in the Mixbus DAW Family

Harrison recently released Mixbus32C, which is described as "the Next Generation Product in the Mixbus DAW family".

Here's what they say:

"Mixbus was hailed by the industry as a breakthrough for 'in the box' mixing by incorporating decades of console building experience into a cost effective mixing platform for today," says Gary Thielman, President of Harrison Consoles. "Mixbus32C takes that concept to the natural next step by using the full resources of today's technological advancements to precisely emulate not only the operational advantages, but to faithfully emulate the analog performance of a traditional Harrison analog console."

Because of the way the Mixbus32C mixer page is laid out, the most commonly used controls are displayed and are accessible at all times using a rich, high contrast GUI design that emulates the original hardware version of the original Harrison 32C console. This traditional layout allows the engineer to approach the console as if it were a musical instrument, directly affecting the art of mixing and contributing greatly to the success of any given mix.

Ben Loftis, Mixbus Product Manager added, "Each Mixbus32C channel strip incorporates an exact emulation of the original Harrison 32C parametric four-band sweepable EQ with a separately switchable filter section including second order high-pass and low-pass filters. Every resistor, capacitor, and transistor was modeled. To run this complex DSP on every channel strip was impossible just 5 years ago."

Mixbus32C also provides 12 stereo mix buses, each with individual level control, latency compensation, and associated master channel incorporating the Harrison tape saturation, bus compression, and tone control functionality.

"The last 32C analog console was produced 33 years ago," says Ben, "we are thrilled to be able to finally bring it back."

Price: $299.

Harrison also released a new plugin for Harrison Mixbus a couple of months ago. The XT-DC Drum Character plugin equalizes the two different parts of a drum "hit" separately utilizing 2 separate equalizers, the 1st dynamically tracks the initial attack while the 2nd dynamically tracks the tail (Requires Mixbus Ver 3.2+).

Ben Loftis, Mixbus product manager, said "Compared to traditional "drum replacement" techniques, the XT-DC preserves the drummer's natural voicing and timing. The XT-DC features Harrison's workhorse DSP derived from our flagship digital consoles. No other plugin provides the ability to enhance and shape the sound of each individual drum in your kit like the XT-DC."

Price: $219 as part of the Character Plugin Bundle.
