IK Multimedia made several announcements at NAMM:

AmpliTube 2.0 Shipping in February (more...)
AmpliTube 2.0 will finally be released in February. It will have an introductory MSRP of $399/€329 for the full version and $249/€199 for the upgrades. All customers of AmpliTube 1 full or upgrade, AmpliTube 1 LE /SE and AmpliTube Live are eligible for the upgrade to AmpliTube 2 at reduced prices. Customers who registered their AmpliTube 1 full version from September 1st, 2005 on will receive a free upgrade to AmpliTube 2.

Classik Studio Reverb Shipping in January (more...)
CSR (Classik Studio Reverb) will be released by the end of January 2006 with an introductory MSRP of $399/€329. It will support all the most popular plug-in platforms in both Windows XP and Mac OS X including VST, RTAS and AU. A TDM version for Pro Tools systems is also under development.

Ampeg SVX
IK Multimedia and Ampeg have disclosed revised information on Ampeg SVX, their upcoming bass amp plug-in that offers accurate modeling of the most sought-after Ampeg gear. The revised features are now:

  • 4 Modules: Tuner, Stomp, Amp, Cabinet +Mic selection/placement.
  • 4 signature Ampeg-modeled bass amps: SVT Classic, SVT 4 PRO, BA500 and the B15 Portaflex.
  • 6 signature Ampeg cabinet models: 1x15, 2x10, 2x12, 2 models of 4x10, and also 8x10.
  • 24 bass amp combinations.
  • 8 analog modeled stomps on 6 slots with flexible routing: Chorus, Delay, Octaver, Wah, Envelope, Filter, Overdrive and Compressor.
  • High precision tuner.
  • Ultra-accurate analog modeling with DSM technology.
  • All effects BPM syncable.

Ampeg SVX is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2006, at an MSRP of $399/€329. Detailed information on Ampeg SVX will appear online soon.

New Bundle Series
With a growing line of diverse recording and live play audio tools, IK will be releasing a series of collectively designed Bundle Packages in 2006, specifically tailored to meet the needs of each musician. Six packages will be available with pricing to be announced:

  1. Guitar & Bass Bundle - AmpliTube 2 and Ampeg SVX.
  2. Workstation Bundle - SampleTank 2.1 XL, Sonik Synth 2 and Miroslav Philharmonik.
  3. Effects Bundle - Classik Studio Reverb and T-RackS.
  4. Studio Bundle - SampleTank 2 XL, AmpliTube 2 and T-RackS.
  5. Effects Bundle Deluxe - AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, Classik Studio Reverb and T-RackS.
  6. Studio Bundle Deluxe - The entire collection of IK plug-ins: AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, Classik Studio Reverb, T-RackS, SampleTank 2 XL, Sonik Synth 2 and Miroslav Philharmonik.

Software Bundling
IK also announced various software bundling deals, including:

  • AmpliTube LE bundled with PreSonus recording interfaces.
  • Various IK plug-ins bundled with Yamaha USB mixers and Fire-Wire interfaces: The bundle will include products such as SampleTank SE, AmpliTube LE, and T-RackS EQ.
  • SampleTank SE/LE bundled with MAGIX Music Creation Software.

IK is 10 - Announces Hardware line
Lastly, IK Multimedia celebrates its 10th anniversary with the announcement of its first hardware product line, a range of controllers and audio cards for the guitar and bass market including StealthPlug Virtual Guitar Amp and StompIO.

  • StealthPlug is cable-like USB audio card designed specifically for guitarists. StealthPlug provides an easy solution to plug any guitar into a computer and enter the world of PC-based digital modeling. Boxed with AmpliTube Live and AmpliTube LE, the StealthPlug is both an audio card and a virtual amp with effects, for live play and recording, all in one. StealthPlug will be available in the summer of 2006.
  • StompIO is a USB foot controller creatively designed to be compatible with AmpliTube 2. (more...)
