ILIO has introduced Ascension, a collection of 204 new patches for Spectrasonics Omnisphere consisting of risers and swells, presented in an entirely new way. Each patch is designed to give a user the freedom and control to choose the timing of each riser and swell to meet their demands. Presented in 2, 4, 8, and 16 bar iterations (with a smattering of 1 bar versions thrown in for good measure), each riser will finish its crescendo at the right ending point, no matter the tempo, every time.
Each sound in Ascension holds and transforms intro drones or pulsations after the crescendo, allowing the user to add beats and other elements on the downbeat. Or the user can release the keys after the final beat is completed to bring it to an end.
Ascension was designed for EDM producers and DJ's, as well as Film and Television composers.
As an added bonus, Ascension allows control with a modulation wheel to add a side-chain compression simulator that emulates the popular "four on the floor" pumping effect. Many patches are also optimized for use with The Orb, giving a user even more real-time control on stage and in the studio.
