Impact Soundworks has released Plectra Series 4: Turkish Oud for Kontakt. It features a deeply-sampled solo six-course oud, played by Stelios Varveris and produced by Dimistris Plagiannis. The library includes all key playing techniques, intelligent polyphonic fingering and voicing, two microphone positions, custom microtuning scales, and 4x dynamic / 4x round robin layers per note.
Plectra Series 4: Turkish Oud is comprised of 3,800+ 24-bit WAV samples, which are unlocked and available to the user. These samples cover playing techniques such as sustained up and downstrokes, hammer-on and pull-off legato, glissando, tremolo, natural vibrato (via modwheel), chord strums (major, minor, fifth), and natural finger / string noises with adjustable volume.
Impact Soundworks' goal with the library is to provide an easy-to-use instrument requiring minimal tweaking for a realistic sound. No keyswitches or MIDI CCs are required to play the instrument, as all voicing and articulations are triggered simply through normal MIDI performance. Advanced users can edit string behavior and keyswitches via a "Preferences" page on the UI, and a mixer interface provides EQ, compression, and convolution reverb effects.
Price: $119. Plectra Series 4: Turkish Oud is available for the introductory price of $99 through October 27, 2014. The library requires the full version of Kontakt 5.3 (or higher).
