K-v-R - The Next Chapter (We've been acquired!)

-
KVR Audio

It's with great excitement that I bring you, possibly, the most important news in K-v-R's short history, since it's inception 3 and a half years ago. K-v-R has been acquired by Muse Research, inc. ( www.museresearch.com ) and I have become their Web Manager as part of the deal!

[OK, sit down and take deep breaths]

If you have been a regular here for a while you probably know that K-v-R has been a (very intense) hobby of mine since it's inception back in February 2000, and juggling K-v-R, my job and my home life has been at times tough, fun, but tough!

K-v-R has become something that I'm very proud of, however, taking K-v-R to the next level requires more than I can throw at it on my own, hence the linkup with Muse Research.

This deal allows me to concentrate on continuing to work on expanding, improving and ultimately, completing the world domination of K-v-R, along with developing and maintaining their corporate and product websites.

What?!?!?! Is our K-v-R going to change?

K-v-R will remain the independent news and community resource that it is now, with the intention of building on what we already have, including reviews, technique articles, continuing the population of the effects database, reporting news of effect plugin releases, etc. as has been my intention for a while, but time hasn't allowed.

K-v-R has become successful by focusing on the specific area of plugin instruments and the guys at Muse Research understand and appreciate this so any future improvements and changes will continue in this focused manner, K-v-R isn't going to become a diluted "we cover everything" type of site, plugin instruments, effects and their hosts will remain the primary focus of K-v-R.

Muse Research - Who hell they?

I'm sure the name Muse Research will be alien to most, if not all, of you, and rightly so, they are a relatively new company, and have yet to bring their technology and products to market. Obviously, I can't go into detail about these products yet, but they are complementary to K-v-R, and the fact that K-v-R is now an asset of Muse Research does not mean their products will be forced down your throats through K-v-R.

If you take a look at www.museresearch.com you'll learn (a little) more about the company and their technology. The primary technology will be unveiled at AES next week but there is a teaser on their website that will change to reveal a little more each day up until the launch at AES on 10th October.

The next chapter for K-v-R starts here!

Ben :)
