New Sonic Arts has updated Vice, the loop slicer plug-in for Mac OS X and Windows, to version 1.3. The update includes the following enhancements:
- New 'Tail Stretch' feature, which smooths the ends of slices to reduce 'choppyness'.
- Creating slices now preserves settings of previous slice.
- Improved envelope handling / revised Gate mode.
- Improved MIDI export: now respects loop trim boundaries.
- Setup Dialog: MIDI port list now updates dynamically as devices are connected / disconnected.
- Several misc bug fixes.
Granite, the granular synthesizer plug-in, has also been updated to version 1.58:
- Added support for OS X Retina / HD display.
- New 'Sample Locate' button to reveal current sample in the file browser.
- Setup Dialog: MIDI port list now updates dynamically as devices are connected / disconnected.
- Several misc bug fixes.
