NAMM 2008Nomad Factory announces Retrology E-Tone

Nomad Factory has announced Retrology E-Tone, a collection of two plug-ins that digitally recreate the Equalizer and Presence Filter which were part of a well known 'British' mastering console. Designed to improve the quality of digital sound recordings, these plug-ins provide a simple and functional "vintage-style" interface, as well as low CPU consumption.

Retrology E-Tone includes Retro E4-Tone and Retro E3-Filter.

Retro E4-Tone

Retro E4-ToneRetro E4-Tone is a simple and elegant 4-band "British-Style" equalizer with 5 switchable frequencies and five switchable Q-Shapes per band. The Q-Shapes control provides Shelf low, Shelf high, Broad, Medium, and Sharp bell curves.

Features:

  • 4-band equalizer with Frequency, Gain and Q-Shapes controls.
  • 5 Q-Shapes per band (LowShelf, Broad, Medium, Sharp, HiShelf).
  • Boost / Cut up to 12dB per band.
  • Phase reverse switch.
  • Overload Peak limiter.
  • Vintage VU Meter and Modern Light Meters.
  • 24 bit / 192 kHz supported.

Retro E3-Filter

Retro E3-FilterRetro E3-Filter (Presence Filter), little brother of the Retro E4-Tone includes High Pass, Low Pass and Presence controls. The Presence control (gain) provide ±12dB of boost or cut on eight switchable frequencies using the same Q-Shape than the Medium Q-Shape used on the Retro E-Tone Equalizer (see descriptions above).

Features:

  • High Pass and Low Pass filters 18dB/octave.
  • Presence .5 kHz, .8 kHz, 1.2 kHz, 1.8 kHz, 2.8 kHz, 4.2 kHz, 6.5 kHz, and 10 kHz.
  • Boost / Cut up to 12dB.
  • Phase reverse switch.
  • Overload Peak limiter.
  • Vintage VU Meter and Modern Light Meters.
  • 24 bit / 192 kHz supported.

Priced at $149, Retrology E-Tone is "coming soon" for Windows and Mac OS X in VST, AU and RTAS formats.
