Orange Tree Samples has released Evolution Banshee, a 8-string metal guitar sample library powered by Native Instruments' Kontakt Player.
Evolution Banshee's extended range could make it ideal for metal and heavy rock, since its naturally-tuned range goes all the way down to a low F#--and even lower if alternate tunings are used. The stock pickups in the guitar were replaced with high-end hand-wound pickups made in the UK, which provide a crisp and balanced tone. The bridge and neck pickup signals were recorded on separate channels, allowing a user to blend between them.
With 17 GB of sample content, Evolution Banshee is designed to cover everything a user might need from rhythm tracks to shredding guitar leads. Its articulations include palm mutes, squeals, tapping, and slides as well as special effects like string scrapes and chugs.
Evolution Banshee comes with its own guitar effects engine, containing a wide assortment of modeled guitar pedals, rack effects, and guitar amps/cabs. These effects are built directly into the sample library.
Finally, Evolution Banshee includes a multitude of factory presets, providing the user with an assortment of ambient, clean, crunchy, and distorted guitar tones.
