Samples From Mars has released Voyetra From Mars, a set of 45 multi-sampled Voyetra instruments for Ableton, Logic and Kontakt. It samples the Voyetra Eight, a polyphonic analog 8-voice rack synth developed in the early 1980s in New York. Some prominent users include New Order, the Eurythmics, Neon Indian and Dennis Ferrer.
The particular unit that was sampled was tuned and calibrated by one of the original engineers who helped design the synth prior to sampling. A variety of patches were developed for sampling, including both complex modulated and layered patches as well as single oscillator basic waveshapes. Finally, the Voyetra was multi-sampled. Some samples were processed with an API preamp, tube saturation, and a Moog filter, but many patches were sampled with no processing whatsoever.
