Vienna Symphonic Library Dimension Brass Collections now powered by Synchron Player

Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL)

The Vienna Symphonic Library has announced the release of Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I & II, a completely overhauled, re-edited and extended version of the popular Vienna Dimension Brass Collections, customized for their proprietary Vienna Synchron Player that integrates the ambience of Synchron Stage Vienna.

The new products are available at an Introductory Price of $656 (reg. $909) each, with major discounts for registered users of Vienna Dimension Brass I & II.

Ensemble Sound with Direct Access to Each Instrument:

  • Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I features four brass ensembles of four players each: A trumpet ensemble, French horn ensemble, trombone ensemble, and a "low brass" ensemble with tuba, bass trombone and two tenor trombones.
  • Synchron-ized Dimension Brass II features three muted brass ensembles of four players each (four trumpets, four trombones, and four French horns have been played exclusively with "straight mutes") as well as a rare ensemble of four Wagner tubas.

While every note was played by these well-rehearsed ensembles, each instrument was recorded with a dedicated microphone. As a result, users may access each instrument individually in order to change sound characteristics, volume, articulation, and performance accuracy intuitively in real-time.

Humanize Presets for realistic Performances
The secret ingredient that makes a brass ensemble sound really authentic is the mixture of human interactions and slight imperfections of a live performance. When playing in an ensemble, musicians listen to each other and continually adapt, matching timbre, volume, intensity, and intonation. Vienna's recording technique embraces these interactions while isolating the individual instruments for utmost control. What's more, users may select from various Humanize Presets in order to adjust the performance accuracy of the four ensemble players according to their musical demands.

Extended Articulations
Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I & II include all samples of the Vienna Dimension Brass I & II Collections that have just been expanded with new articulations to Full Libraries, providing even more variations, nuances and possibilities of expression.

The new performance glissandos were recorded up to a tritone for the trombones and even up to an octave for the trumpets and French horns. They can be seamlessly combined with the legato performances. The new medium sustained notes are available in six dynamic layers and are not looped, providing the instruments' all-natural decay. Users may crossfade between different dynamic layers by using a continuous controller in order to get natural and seamless transitions – from a mellow tone color to an assertive, stinging brass sound and back.

The Vienna Symphonic Library team added recorded crescendos and diminuendos of one, two, and three seconds length that are absolutely crucial when it comes to ultra-realistic brass performances. Last but not least, the new long portatos of approximately half a second in length fill the gap between the existing short and long sustained notes.

Production-ready Sound and Ambience
Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I & II comes with the new Vienna Synchron Player that includes a specifically designed convolution reverb derived from Vienna MIR Pro, featuring the ambience of the 5,813 sq.ft. main hall of Synchron Stage Vienna. The included placement presets combine customized impulse responses with expertly crafted reverb settings for each ensemble. By adding the ambience of Synchron Stage Vienna's Stage A to the dry samples in real-time, Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I & II perfectly blend with any other product of the Synchron Series, resulting in a production-ready sound "out of the box".

Introductory Offers

Both Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I & II are currently available at $656 (reg. $909) each through November 30, 2018. Additionally, registered users of Vienna Dimension Brass I & II Standard Libraries benefit from special crossgrade prices of $225 (reg. $282) each, and may get Synchron-ized Dimension Brass I & II at only $41 (reg. $52) each for having registered the corresponding Vienna Dimension Brass Full Library.
