Sudden latency

hi
had a laptop for a couple of weeks running only cantabile.
Has been running fine on asio4all drivers.tascam144 ai
run prog today and latency has appeared from nowhere.
changing the buffer size is not changing this latency(just the audio quality),nor does using a different driver
tested on standalone softsynth and also behringer audio interfaces
almost like the laptop itself is causing it but latency checker results are fine
anybody got any ideas?

Hello!
Have you tried LatencyMon ?
Is hardware ok? (broken HDD, broken RAM, dust in CPU cooler - may causing this latency)
Try to remove the battery from laptop - also could solve the issue...

Kind regards Alexandr

hi
im running an ssd
but it does seem like it is accessing more then it use to
latency is fine on internal sound which makes me think its usb related?usbsys.exe spikes
used at weekend at band meet and it was fine, then hours later after i got home it wasnt.
may try windows repair.have turned off bios docking station stuff see if thats helps.

Hello!
You should optimize your system accurately.
Try this guides:
https://www.ableton.com/en/help/article ... e-windows/
http://us.focusrite.com/answerbase/opti ... -windows-7
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/s ... rocessing/
Then repeat LatencyMon.
PS: windows repair may probably solves nothing...
