It sounds like you had a pretty good grasp of the hexadecimal commands. I know that when I started programming stuff it was all qwerty keyboard and it wasn't till much later on that I got to grips with the hexadecimal codes.
Did you program that entire piece from the qwerty keyboard or with an external keyboard?
