Jackson Browne, "Running on Empty"
Everyone I know, everywhere I go
People need some reason to believe
I don't know about anyone, but me...
Wait a moment... First, you speak on behalf of literally everyone, then you immediately claim you don't know about anyone else but yourself?

You either know about everyone else or you don't. Which is it?

Maybe... just maybe... you should have sorted that out before you wrote those lyrics and immortalized that gaffe in one of your most popular songs?

It's a beautiful song, but that one little glitch always gets to me.

Pro Tip: If you can feel the lightning, you won't have to wait on the thunder. It's already there! :hihi:

I clocked the jizz from a friend of yours named Vanessa Bet
She said you told her a fantasy that got her all wet

This lyric is triple-y cringey. First, Prince tries to coin the phrase "clocked the jizz" (spoiler alert: it never caught on). Second, he creates a stupid name (although at least he didn't try to saddle an actual human person with this name like he did to several actual people, like Carmen Electra). Third, he uses the stupid name to set up a rhyme. Just bad lyric writing.

Hopefully his interstellar genius (and my profound love for him) can withstand this humble critique!

I f**king love that song :-) Apparently it's a thing on Tik Tok now. I love that way it's actually quite twee and a little trite, but it's about modded cars with massive speakers

Classic.

'Gonna write a classic
Gonna write it in an attic'

Ouch !!!!!!

Walking in Memphis

'Saw the ghost of Elvis
On Union Avenue
Followed him up to the gates of Graceland
Then I watched him walk right through
Now security they did not see him
They just hovered 'round his tomb'

I mean, really??!!!

I really don't remember that song from when it was supposed to be popular, but even Fred Flintstone raps better
