It's in my buy list.
What has been the lowest sale price up to now?
Saw Portal for $66 at Thomann

Very tempting.
Wonder how JRR will do.

Portal does not seem to have a randomizer.
I am spoiled with the randomization capability of Andy's Home Grown Sounds Kontakt instruments.

output + thermal + movement

(which i don't own, Portal eludes me, even as a granular addict, what brings or adds for me, personal, of course) but for who whants for cheap all 3 effects..
"output + thermal + movement" I suppose you mean Portal + thermal + movement.

I have Movement and it is one fx I really like.
If I did not have it I would like get this bundle.
I had Portal to buy at $75 from years ago but since then I have acquired so many plugins mostly at very low prices so now it is a buy at under $50.

Voltage Modular is several granular effects/sources; 2 granular effects, with one that is spectral-granular...

https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/a ... -processor

https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/oscillatorro

the last one comes also as a polyphonic version (and can be bought in a bundle, the whole Nekomatic Bundle is on sale);

https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/m ... illatorros

1 granular module/source. with extensions, it is capable, well just discover it, the limits are only... modular...

https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/granular-synth-1

extension "1":

https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/gs-breakout

extension "2" (not per se only for the granular synth, but still... built for it);

https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/n-step-sequencer

1 granular module/source, that you can play polyphonic, and has some extra sauce....

https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/p ... oscillator

(all can be used in the free version of Voltage Modular, that works standalone, or as plugin...)

I asked my AI what the most innovative plugin was at the moment and it told me Portal by Output.

You mean that you have enough other granular effects that you wouldn't buy portal unless it was under $50?

Anyone have personal thoughts on Portal versus Fragments and other granulators? Portal is now down to impulse purchase territory, but looking through the manual it’s a pretty simple plugin. Am I missing anything special beyond the great UI? Currently using Fragments and MGranularMB, also interested in Lese Glow and Graindad.

Me would say you already having everything you need...

Portal is multi FX plugin similar to Fragments, it has a lot under the hood, not just granulator, i like it very much for sound design, to change a sample or a synth to something else
for drones and atmo stuff, pure granulator with reverb is the best combo, check out Dawesome Love for pads and drones out of this world :hug:

I like it but it's pricey. I think granular needs a beefy processor hence it's cheaper in software at the moment anyway. It's fun to explore what's out there though.
