Here's my very first (serious) Grid device - a beat repeater!!!
It takes the incoming audio and repeats it based on the MIDI notes that you can sidechain to it using Note Receiver from some other track (or from the same track using a different MIDI channel), for as long as the note is held:
Enjoy!

- C3 = 1/8th repeats
- C#3 = 1/16th
- D3 = 1/32nd
- D#3 = 1/64th
Enjoy!

Looks great thanks - love the elegant way Bitwig draws cables in the above picture

Right?! That's one of the often overlooked aspects, but it's really quite something!
BTW, here's - at the same zoom level - how the original patch looked like vs the way it's now after I figured out ways to "optimise" it

Here's a new version - it adds another note for 1/128th repeats and now velocity decides how quickly the repeats fade out (the lower the velocity, the quicker the fade).

It seems like quite a few people are looking to move to Linux these days, so I've created a guide to getting a solid Ubuntu/Bitwig/JACK system running: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C45rLPAtRD8
Also, Polarity Music (https://www.youtube.com/c/PolarityMusic) and Mattias Holmgren (https://www.youtube.com/c/MattiasHolmgren) have some really great Bitwig training videos.

Watching this puts me off completely. Its by magnitudes too complicated and made for people who basically know already how its done. Isn‘t Ubuntu Studio supposed to have all these settings prepared already? Can‘t this be automated or delivered with a user interface? Linux hackers are programmers, programmers make programs which automate tasks to make life easier…
Sometimes I have the feeling Linux hackers are not lazy enough. Programmers need to be lazy and let their programs do the hard work…
