I've got an older Compaq laptop with a Celeron CPU yet and 2G RAM that was running Vista and the updates were paralyzing it. It would take about five minutes to start up and longer to shut down. I was getting ready to send it off to the recycler along with a printer, and some other electronic junk laying around when I remembered Linux. So I started looking around on the web, YouTube in particular and eventually installed Peppermint Linux on it. Whoa, what a difference! It starts up in under a minute and shuts down even quicker, it has a new lease on life!
Well anyway, more importantly I installed VM3 on it using Wine(installed it from a flash drive) and it works great! I'm not even using an anti-virus yet but I might get a free one just in case.

Sorry to say that the Compaq went to Recycle heaven long ago along with a Roland U20 and Ensoniq SQ1+. Still enjoy VAZ on Windows 10 though. VAZ lives on!
