on a serious note does any one have condensor mic set up tips - I dont think I'm on top of it quite yet .. runs into a focusrite penta chanel strip

It has a nice, thick "rock and roll" sound. Gotta be some compression in there. ;)

Mics and mic techniques are my real passion, so I'd be glad to respond in detail, but I'd need to know what kind of sound you are looking for...

ok - I am ideally looking for warm, clear "close" sounding acoustic sound - I've only had a quick go but so far I think theres too much preamp noise and not enough overall signal strength for me ..

the set up is my new toy an ADK A51 which I've put into a Focusrite Penta then through a folio notepad (into the pc eventually obviously)

tbh - mic set up is very very new to me - any pointers would be most welcome :)

I seem to be posting I LOVE IT replies to everything today :D
but for a jam this is amazing.
I'd keep it rough and airy like it is; but with some some structuring its will kick ass.
