Hello there,

I really like your plugin, and I probably could make it run (inefficiently and possibly unstabl-y) by converting it through Yabridge. However, it'd be great to have a true Linux binary. Any plans for this? And if not, want to voice my support for it.

Not at this time, no. Linux demand is very small, yet represents a significant effort to support, given it is a wholly new OS, UI/graphics subsystem to support etc. I fear that quite a few people would have to pledge buying a licence for it to be even remotely cost-effective. :-(

That's really unfortunate as I am unable to make it work. :/

Is it possible, instead, for you to help debugging it under Wine? You know the insides so will probably be able to figure out why something doesn't work.

No promises, but I can try to set up an environment.

Cool! I use Linux too, and would love to use TX16Wx in Linux! :)

As an added note, I just now read about how a Windows developer can send the Linux user a specifically compiled debug version of their software that helps to better determine where the plugin is crashing in Linux, and why. Apparently the Melda development team do this to make their Windows plugins work in Linux. What a great idea! :)

I got here searching for the linux version, apart from the Redux, Tal Sampler and Ninjas 2, there's no other sample slicer on linux, TX16Wx may be a really nice option to this SO!

I could be mistaken, but I believe TAL-Drum and Apisonic Labs’ Speedrum both have slicers. Also, I believe Skei is in the beta stages with his slicer, SA_BOTAGE. Nevertheless, I would love for CWITEC to support Linux to some degree—even if it is through a Windows app and WINE. 🙂

Edit: I forgot. I believe Bliss Sampler also has a slicer built in, as well. 🙂

Stumbled to TX16Wx, and indeed, looks like interesting tool. But same thing for me, does not work in linux. Tried to run it with carla-single, both vst and vst3 version, and no success at all.

I run wide range of windows plugins, and wine-working version would be perfectly ok for me.

If you need any help/instructions what to do, feel free to ask.

I think easiest way to test is install some debian/ubuntu, add there kxstudio repos & winehq staging.

Then install carla, and run that plugin with carla-single from command line.

What group buy number would you require? 100-150 purchases for the initial support work? Would 4000 - 6000 Euro be a sufficient starter for two months of Linux porting work?

I already have a Pro license, but I'd be willing to buy it again to get it supported. We could set up a group buy. :)

Well, that would be very hard to say no to at least. :-)

I second a group buy. I own a professional license but be willing to buy again for a linux version. Linux has a few basic samplers and players but it doesn't have anything with the power of TX16Wx.

I recently was reading that the it is believed that the biggest problem that TX16Wx has with running in WINE is with the D2D1.DLL. Is there an alternative library that could be used that would work better for all three OSes? Could the need for the D2D1.DLL be replaced with a better supported alternative that would allow things to run better in WINE? That may be a solution that would work better than how it is now, without as much work and without having to worry about compiling a Linux binary... What do you think, elcallio?
