How can a single topic that was read, turn up unread?

When i'm finished reading posts i use "mark forums read".
Next time i open the forum i see the topics that are unread since the last visit.
Today one of the topics that had unread posts where "OSC general discuss.."
But the last posts, the whole last page, was already read by me yesterday. No other topic is like this.
What could be causing this?
My guess was a post got edited. But i couldn't see any edit notification on the posts. Edits done before the "edit" notification is written shouldn't be registered, should it?
Anybody have a clue?

I don't have a number there at all.
If the "notify me when a reply is posted" is ticked it shows up there. Is it 109 now when i replied?
I like it because it tells me when someone replies to a post of mine and if it is about an old post, the link in there make it easy to go to the old post.
.
ADDED. There's this flaw that the "reply with quote" has to be used for notifications to work. Your reply that didn't use that didn't give me a notification. That's ok for recent post that you check on from time to time but older post with "not using quote" reply will not be noticed and never answered.

I thought an added post couldn't be deleted, only the text could.
But if that is possible it would be the best explanation.
.
But of course, a forum moderator could delete it as easy as moving it. Did it get moved? That stumped me for a second.

A mod could have deleted it, eg if someone had reported spam, or whatever.

Ok.
On Cakewalk forum, by invisioncommunity, they leave the post with a link to the new place when moved.
If phpbb have that function it would be nice to see it applied.
I wonder if harryupbabble see the number 109 now?
