Hi Calle. Does TX support MPE at all? If not, do you have any plans to add it? It seems affordable MPE controllers are becoming more common and the rich modulation available in TX16Wx could work very well with such devices.

TX does not support MPE at this time. MPE is a weird beast, since it basically hijacks all 16 MIDI channels to provide the various part of a "more expressive" instrument. Not surprisingly, this is somewhat orthogonal to multi-timbral operation, that TX does.
I am somewhat sceptical, as "MPE" basically is just things anyone can do with some controller mapping and "normal" MIDI expression.

Yes, I've heard it described as a bit of a kludge. What are your thoughts on MIDI 2? I understand that will offer the same sort of control as MPE but in a better way.

Did not fully read it. It seems serious, but I worry it will be too complex with very little gains for the average user.
In the end, plug-ins will have to wait until plug formats handle these standards in any case, though otoh, most MIDI2 spec seems to be more around redesigned transport and higher resolution control values, which plug-ins already more or less enjoy. We will see...
