I think you're in the wrong place, this forum is for Sequencers, DAWs and Audio Editors. Ask a moderator to move to the Effects forum.

I received an email as torpedo wall of sound plugin/two notes user, but there's too confusing information, as far as I understand it's free for torpedo users, isn't it?AmyTwonotes wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 12:31 pm Introducing GENOME, the carrier class software ecosystem engineered to deliver the pinnacle in end-to-end tone shaping. Will Genome replace it or...?

Yeah, it's going to replace Wall of Sound - it loads all the cabs from WOS, but there's way more in there - amps, pedals, FX etc.
Personally, I just want to load my WOS cabs.
Maybe some day, I'll use the other stuff.

I've downloaded and installed, but not played with it yet.
The most immediately interesting feature for me is that it's supposed to load NAM captures, as well as a few other less-popular types.
Melda's Guitar Architect also loads NAM captures, and I am in love with it for that. GA also lets you load third-party VSTs inside it. Looks like Genome doesn't, but my surmise is that TwoNotes will be adding all sorts of pedals and rack gear as paid add-ons before all is said and done.
EDIT: My bad. Looks like GA does not load 3rd party VSTs. I've been loading it in Element and attaching other VSTs that way. Revalver does load them internally, but, honestly, I think it may already be a dead thing.
Since it's free for anyone who already had WOS, it's a no-brainer deal at this point, and it would be graceless to criticize it for not being something that it isn't.

Wow, this is quite the comeback and update from two-notes. WoS was always great but pretty niche/boutique in how it was IMO somewhat clunkily focused on their own IRs and not exactly cheap. I had a bunch of IRs but then kind of moved on because I didn't want to have it all stuck in their plugin.
But now they improved the interface on DynIR and added a more mainstream and flexible signal chain and amp-sim UI around it. It really puts their DynIRs back on the map for me.
Small detail: You can split the chain by clicking on the white dot. I first thought we could only have one cab at a time now.

Been messing about with this today. I must have all the amp sims pretty much. The ones I actually use regularly are the Kuassa ones (cos they sound great, but the 360 thing is annoying, so I just use the specific plugins), WoS for poweramp and cap if I'm using hardware preamps (which I do quite a bit) and the Overloud cab sim (as a WoS alternative sometimes). I have AT5 or whatever it's currently called, but I don't ever use it, nor like it. Have other stuff too probably that I never open.
So far I absolutely love the GUI of genome. very similar to Kuassa 360, but cleaner and more intuative. The EQ/Dynamics GUIs are also really smart.
Sounds great. Pedals sound great. Amps sound great. Cab stuff is as good as WoS, which is also great.
The price seems incredibly fair, even if it isn't free (which it was to me, because WoS).
Dunno. in a world of 100k amp sims, there's something serious, simple, elegant about this that immediately suggests I'm going to be leaning into it over the next few months. Really impressed.

Well my favourite amp modeler (NAM) and my favourite solution for cabs (Wall of Sound) in one piece of software! Plus a lot of other, great stuff I've been using WoS for years, so I got this for free, and I love it! A great step forwards for both Two-Notes, NAM, AidaX and GuitarML. Excellent, just excellent!

I have a question, when I disable the internet connection to my Mac and load a new instance of Genome on a track, it loads pretty quickly. However, when I enable the internet connection to my Mac and load a new instance of Genome on a track, it loads very, very slowly. This is a huge usability problem. Will this be fixed?AmyTwonotes wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 4:41 pm Yes we are giving GENOME for free to our Hardware and Wall of Sound users! GENOME is replacing Wall of Sound. Am I the only one thinking that it's a bit weird that there doesn't seem to be any info on the product's page(s) on what's actually included?

There's a small link on the product page to this page: https://www.two-notes.com/en/whats-included-with-genome

Thanks, but I've seen this - weirdly enough it still doesn't actually list what's included though...
