Hi,

I can assign any parameter on a track in Logic to any knob (CMD+L) on my midi controller, but I can't assign it so this one knob automates 1 parameter in one track and different in other track.

Is this possible to do?

You gotta set up different MIDI channels for the knobs in the Arturia MIDI Control Center, and then set up the tracks you want to control to the respective MIDI channel.

Thanks but that seems complicated. :borg:
I was hoping I can just do CMD+L on each track, select a track and play with knobs on selected track easily.

Not to mention that this keyboard doesn't fully work in Logic, the pads are generating synth sound as if I've pressed a key, the knob under display does nothing...

Their firmware/script is really a mess.

That's normal. The pads on keyboards usually are mapped to MIDI notes by default (makes sense when you consider that drum machines also respond to MIDI notes).

Check the MIDI Control Center, and also the MIDI mode to change the behavior. Not sure which MIDI modes the MiniLab supports though, and what the pads can be mapped to.

I have no idea what CMD + L does on a Mac, by the way. Windows user here.

If you click on Cutoff for example and press CMD+L, you get this:

And the knob is assigned (you have to tweak the knob you want to assign)

Ok, but, that will only save the assignment for the instrument, not for another track with the same instrument. As I wrote above, you need to assign different MIDI channels to the different tracks, otherwise the DAW won't know which instance of the plugin to trigger.

Ok but I don't really understand how to do that, I'm also switching to Ableton which will make my life harder. lol

Do you have the Arturia MIDI Control Center installed? You can assign MIDI CC numbers of the different knobs and controls of the keyboard there, and also the MIDI channel the single controls transmit on. After you assigned them, you have to set the tracks you want to control to the respective MIDI channels, and then you should be able to control different tracks with the controls (you probably also need to set the tracks to record arm or something similar in your DAW).

I don't know if there's an easier way in Logic or Ableton to do that. But, the way I described it, it should work on any DAW.
