Ample Sound has released Ample Bass Yinyang (ABY) which is modeled on a Fodera Yinyang bass. This instrument is well described by bassplayer.com:
"Fodera basses have long been the stuff of dreams for most bass players. Their reputation as exquisite instruments and their association with some of the bass world's baddest players (Anthony Jackson, Victor Wooten, and Matt Garrison among them) make them among the most coveted basses on the market."
ABY has a 5.1 GB sample library which records each single fret. Dry samples with no dynamic processing applied.
There are 12 articulations including Palm Mute, Dead Note, Natural Harmonic, Hammer On & Pull Off, Legato Slide, Slide in & out, Pop Slide In, Pop, Slap and Tap.
The Legato articulations can be used to achieve legato notes of any duration, pitch and polyphony both on Normal and Strummer mode.
New feature:
- New sample structure with more velocity layers and cycles, and particular emphasis on Slap, Pop and Tap.
- New Active\Passive pickup switch simulation.
- More natural noises and release sound automatically triggered while playing.
- Broaden note range up to G4 (24 frets), and lowest to B.
- Redesigned interface.
