Native Instruments have released v1.5 of Kontakt for Mac OS X (later for Mac OS 9) and Windows and brings many new and improved features, including a Beat Machine for slicing and syncing loops, Time Machine II, VST automation and much more. In addition Kontakt v1.5 provides Mac OS X compatibility and new interfaces, namely Audio Units and RTAS (RTAS also for Windows XP).
Kontakt v1.5 is, sadly, a paid update, available as a special offer for $29/$49 for the first four weeks following release (until December 6th, 2003), after which it will cost $49/$69 (direct download/boxed version).
However, anyone who purchased Kontakt after August 1st, 2003 (online or from a dealer) can download the v1.5 update for free (copy of receipt required if not purchased in the NI Online Shop).
Battery
Native Instruments also now offers a brand-new update that makes Battery compatible with Mac OS X, Audio Units and RTAS (RTAS for Windows XP is coming soon). This update is available for all registered Battery users in the NI Online Shop as direct download for 29 Euro/Dollars (Anyone who purchased Battery after October 1st, 2003 (online or from a dealer) can download the update for free).
The update offers the following:
- Mac OS X- support - standalone and as plug-in.
- Support for Core Audio and Core MIDI on Mac OS X.
- Support for the plug-in formats Audio Units, RTAS, VST 2 on Mac OS X.
