Vienna Symphonic Library announces "Synchron Strings I" all-new string library with Early Bird Offer
The Vienna Symphonic Library has announced an all-new, full 46 piece string orchestra library that was recorded with the signature ambience of the company's recently renovated Synchron Stage Vienna, a 540 m² (5,813 sq.ft.) scoring stage. The new product will be made available in November, 2017 and may be pre-ordered at a special Early Bird Price, 30% off its list price. Additionally, all existing String Collections and Bundles of the Viennese company are currently offered at a 20% discount. If purchased together with the new Synchron Strings I library, the promotional discount amounts to 30%. This limited time offer expires on October 31, 2017.
Strings Re-invented
VSL say Synchron Strings I is about to set new standards for ease-of-use, realism and expressiveness, combining scoring stage recordings with the sampling and software technology Vienna Symphonic Library is known for. It is the company's first string library recorded with the signature ambience of "Stage A", the main hall of Synchron Stage Vienna. Since its renovation and reopening in 2016, the historic recording facility has already hosted a wealth of music recordings for international film and TV productions (such as Inferno, The Crown, Lego Batman, Ghost in the Shell, Comrade Detective, MEG), in addition to video games, commercials, and classical recordings. The acoustics of Stage A are characterized by a lush and warm sound with an average reverb time of 1.8 seconds, while still providing excellent localization of all sound sources, both in depth and in the stereo or surround environment.
Multiple Microphone Positions
The sections of 1st violins (14), 2nd violins (10), violas (8), cellos (8), and double basses (6) were recorded separately at their designated positions on stage, with eight phase-coherent microphone configurations. Due to the comprehensive selection of discrete audio channels users can shape their string sound individually, from close and focused, to broad and epic, mixing the signals in stereo, 5.1 surround or even 9.1 Auro 3D (or any other immersive audio format, such as Dolby Atmos).
8 Velocity Layers, 80 Variations per Key
Synchron Strings I owes its realism to up to eight velocity layers and ten note variations per key. All of the samples—short notes, long notes with various attacks, legatos, scalable vibrato intensities and note repetitions—can be controlled with minimal articulation switching and by adding just a few controller movements. Bringing together new recording techniques and innovative algorithms tailored to recordings on a scoring stage, VSL say the Legato Performances excel with a newly heightened realism.
Ease-of-Use with new Vienna Synchron Player
Synchron Strings I works with the company's Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro players. What's more, Vienna's team of software developers is currently working on a dedicated Vienna Synchron Player that is based on an all-new streaming engine built from the ground up. It will be able to trigger more than 300 voices per instrument simultaneously. The new software player will also come with an internal mixer with 3-band EQ, delay for runtime compensation, algorithmic reverb, phase switching and panorama controls.
Early Bird Price and Limited Time Offer
Users may purchase Synchron Strings I before its official release in November 2017 at a special Early Bird price of $417, normally $595, for the Standard Library and $764, normally $1,090, for the Full Library—a 30% savings compared to its list price. Additionally, all of Vienna's existing String Collections (Solo Strings, Chamber Strings, Orchestral Strings, Appassionata Strings, Dimension Strings) as well as their respective Bundles are currently available at a 20% discount. Customers who add Synchron Strings I at the Early Bird Price to their order will increase their savings to 30% on all Vienna string libraries they purchase through October 31, 2017.
