I'm looking for a simple, powerful live looper software for Mac to use as an inspirational sketchpad instead of a DAW. I realize every DAW could be used for this, but I'm going minimal for an upcoming educational project. Only need 8-tracks, but don't want to be limited to 4 bars. Any thoughts?

There is Loopy Pro which just focuses on live looping and if you use a Mac. It works similarly to a LoopStation. If you have a Mac, MainStage has a Live looper plugin included with a bit of setup and patience you can setup a Live Looper workflow there as well.

SooperLooper did not work out. Just tried it. I'll check out Loopy Pro.

Usine might work, but its not like a regular DAW, its a performance thing i suppose, and
can control lighting, video etc. Its quite
complicated tho, but ridiculously powerful.
Its also non-linear which can be a bit weird.

Still, quite neat and intetesting if you can
wrap your head around it.

The developer of Möbius just announced that he’s 90% done with a new 64 bit version.

You are right. For some reason I've see a few videos and thought it was working on a Mac already. It could have by using the app on Apple Silicon. There is a way to make that work though not exactly sanctioned by Apple or the developers.

This looks really cool and promising, but I'm wondering if anyone has created some templates to work from. It's looks a little too involved for me to set up from scratch.

Oh, on an iPhone, just hold on o and wait a second and you’ll see the options for alt characters. Öõøōœòôó (I’m a graphic designer, that’s how I know all this nerdy font stuff)
