Small little melodic drum and bass song done in Reason 12. Hope you like it.

I also created a video in FL for it:

Really digging the percussive synth sound that opens up a little after its introduction at the beginning.

I am curious; when you were doing the melodic lines did you have to purposefully avoid the Take Me On melody? Sincere about the question, no shade - I find myself sometimes having to change a melody line just because it sounds like I am aping an already released song. Curious if you found yourself consciously avoiding the A-ha comparison or did it even cross your mind?

Anyway, really solid piece. I love the mix. I love all the dynamics and the patch choices/design. Compressors and limiters for days. Nice 'in your chest' mix. Your patch choices are fantastic man.

Hi thank you. Interesting comparison with Take on Me, but the melody was a randomly accident, as always. Maybe it's because of the chord progression that you could draw connections between the two songs. Similar situation like the 4-chord song from The Axis Of Awesome.

Hi aquilyzer,

good arrangement and usage of rise & hit samples/effects. I think that I enjoyed the break the most. I think that I would have done two things different then you: I would have chosen another kick, which is more present in the drums and I would have mixed the drums in a way that they fit a little bit better to the lead, to glue everything together. Because to me drums and lead are not that well related to each other. But this is just my subjective opinion :).

Best regards
