Acousticas releases EMT252 Impulse Response Library

-
Acousticas

Acousticas has announced the release of its new Impulse Response Library: Tinker Bell aka EMT 252 along with the EMT 250 and EMT Non-Lin options. The unit has been recorded analog with the EMT 252 converters and not digitally.

Consisting of 2,112 stereo impulses, Acousticas sampled just about every setting that the EMT 252, 250, NON-LIN and D-REV have to offer.

Users will be able to utilize the frequency-band multipliers of the real hardware with the IRs, as they have been captured as well, giving the user the same frequency-dependent control of the reverb as the hardware offers. Each reverberation time consists of multiple impulses, representing those. The impulses have been sorted for easy and fast access.

Acousticas spent countless hours making this library sound as close to the hardware as possible. There is not one impulse which has not received special care and attention, apparently. The modulation delay presets, supplied with the library, are playing a vital role as they recreate the "chorusing" effect, produced by the real hardware. One advantage of the impulses is that you can turn off the "chorusing" by simply not inserting the modulation delay. The hardware does not offer such an option.

Compatibility

Besides being compatible with any convolution reverb, capable of reading .wav files; Acousticas offer proprietary* preset support for the following plug-ins on both Mac and Windows** platforms: Altiverb, IR1 and IRL, Revolver, TL-Space, Space Designer, Structure, Kontakt 2 and Kontakt 3.

* Proprietary preset support translations: No need for importation of the Impulse Response. It will load up directly within the plug-in.

** Kontakt 2 & 3 as well as Structure are revealing slow loading times due to the sheer number of IRs. For that reason, Acousticas were not able to offer proprietary preset support for those on the Windows platform. The IRs may however be loaded as plain wav files and are working as such on the Windows platform.

Pro Tools and Logic users receive presets for Short Delay II & Logic's Chorus Plug-In, respectively which emulates the modulation of the actual device. Users of other DAWS are provided with the information, via screen shots of Digidesign's Mod Delay II, on how to recreate the modulation within their choice of DAW and plug-in.

Video/Sound Demos are available.
