Bjt2 has updated their free Crescendo plugin to version 1.0.70 with various enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Introduced programmable MIDI sequencer mode.
  • Introduced a secondary input, to be able to perform sidechaining in all configurations.
  • Added song time and sequencer time (if activated) next to polyphony in debug mode.
  • Added host song time and host flags next to polyphony in debug>=2 mode.
  • Bug fix:
    • Correctly sync the internal clock with the host clock.
    • Correctly detect if the DAW is in play mode.
    • MIDI messages generation.
    • Dynamic allocation of some buffers.
  • Changed SENDSx behaviour: same as OUT except that after POST step their values are lost.
  • Allowed multiline instructions.
  • Expanded and reworked the manual.

Enhancements from previous versions:

  • Crescendo can now be used as a VST MIDI effect. Detailed instructions in the manual.

  • UI tweaks, performance enhancement and bugfixes (resource leak).

  • Added version, build type, sample rate and block size to some debug messages.

  • Performance enhancement: merged further IFs in critical code, inlined some functions and tweaked some compiler parameters.

  • Bugfix: given a name ("Temperament") to the temperament VST Var.

  • Added variable arguments, C's printf style functions support in the parser: ("format string", ...).

  • Added OSCG ("format string", ...) general oscillator function.
  • Deprecated functions covered by OSCG and put them in Appendix B of the manual.
  • SoundFont import: use the new OSCG function. Add the temperament VST VAR. Warning: in a future release deprecated functions will be deleted. Reimport all the SoundFont files.
  • Introduced FREQ0 and GAIN0: plain, not modulated values.
  • Performance enhancement (merged some IFs in critical code).
  • Compiled with faster flags.
  • Cosmetic fixes (disabled theme on buttons) and performance enhancement (deleted redundant redraws) on the UI.
  • VST var linked with temperament now shows temperament name, to aid in choosing temperament with config window closed. Autosetting the VST var parameters (min, max, scale type).
  • Debug messages reworking.
  • Removed UTF-8 BOM quirk.
  • UTF-8 support in most UI strings (your source text file must be in UTF-8).
  • Reworked manual.
