Scott McCabe has announced that he is resurrecting his DS8 Drum Works project and has begun work on DS8 v2.0 which he plans to release in two versions - DS8 Drum Works v2.0F which will be a free version and DS8 Drum Works v2.0P which will be a pay-for-play version.
Preliminary plans for v2.0:
- Fix remaining issues from DS8 v1.1, including adding support for modern VST hosts.
- Pattern library: create and modify patterns, exchange with friends and so forth - a "groove buddy" will be integrated to make things feel "human".
- Loop support.
- Skin manager to switch skins and import custom ones.
- Other unspecified new features.
Up to date development information, news, files (including samples, patches, updates, kits, etc.) will be posted in the new DS8 Yahoo! Group.
