Holon is an auditory AR app for city-wide, ubiquitous, interactive music that is driven by the activity of listeners and their interactions with the environment. The Internet of Everything is musical

Holon is updated and now uses spatial computing to create synth music from data, while adapting seamlessly to your activity and context.

Holon measures your proximity to certain amenities, such as benches, bins, post boxes, shops, cafes and so on, effectively turning them into musical emitters and modulators.

Holon works best when used passively, by placing the phone in a pocket. This helps the software to detect coupled body movements. The tempo of the music is synchronised to your step rate (this may take 10 seconds of continuous walking/running to be calculated).

Musical sequences and events are created from geospatial data and environmental data in real time. Directions, time of day and the position of the Sun/Moon all influence the music in various ways. For example, cloud cover can determine the musical scale, while activity/speed might trigger notes.

We recommend Apple AirPods Pro in transparency mode.

Please note! You need to use Holon outdoors, in the areas marked on the map at www.holonic.systems/holon
