MUTOOLS releases MU.LAB v2.0.1

MUTOOLS has announced that, after nine months of intense R&D, version 2.0 of MU.LAB has been released (actually v2.0.1 is already available).

MU.LABHighlights in MU.LAB 2.0:

  • New integrated high quality sampler, also featuring key & velocity mapping.
  • New integrated synth 'Synthia' : Quick results, fantastic sound.
  • Track Targets allow you to set a target plugin per track. You can still use free tracks where each part can have it's own target.
  • Drag and drop support e.g. Drop an audio or MIDI file on the composer, or a bunch of samples onto the multisample editor, etc.
  • Reworked audio part system using an unlimited number of locators per audio file.
  • Rack Desk can now be used in docked mode or in windowed mode.
  • Enhanced plugin editor windowing.

  • Improved workflow in many aspects.
  • Enhanced modular plugin system.
  • Enriched MuSynth oscillator can produce really fat sounds.

  • Enhanced MIDI controller mapping.
  • Extended Mixdown functionality. e.g. Mixdown to 32bit floats, Mixdown directly into sampler.

Pricing & Availability

MU.LAB is available for Windows and Mac OS X and comes in two flavors: MU.LAB Free and MU.LAB Unlimited:

  • MU.LAB Free (which is free to everyone) has a 6 track limit and can only mixdown in 16-Bit.
  • MU.LAB Unlimited costs €49. It can do unlimited tracks and can also mixdown in 32-Bit for more extensive musical productions.

Changes in MU.LAB 2 since v2.0 Pre-Release F3:

  • Tuned: Improved handling of AIFF / WAVE files with an audio data length mismatch.
  • Fixed: Crash bug when using the plugin drop down button on racks.
  • Fixed: Vertical zoom out when no tracks resulted in a weird situation.
  • New: MU.LAB can record audio in 32 bits floats by setting the 'AudioRecordingIn32BitFloats=1' preference in Settings/Mulab.txt.
  • Fixed: Using unknown characters in text strings could result in a crash.
  • Fixed: When minimizing a window, the minimized title bar was not showing the most up to date title.
  • Fixed: On changing the MIDI channel for a sequence part, MU.LAB crashes.
