PhysiPop releases traxPad for the iPad

PhysiPop has announced the release of version 1.2.1 of traxPad for the iPad: a multitouch mixing app designed for the professional DJ. Unlike other DJ apps, traxPad plugs into a DJ mixer and takes the place of a turntable or CDJ. It’s fast and stable enough to use at a club with virtually no lag or interruptions in sound.

traxpad.jpgFor the experienced DJ, traxPad is intuitive and easy to use. While the track plays, you can use multitouch movements to control the audio waveform. Slide two or more fingers to adjust the track speed; then use one finger to nudge the speed temporarily (similar to nudging a record or jog wheel).

PhysiPop says traxPad has gathered a small but rabid following: “It’s the only DJ app I can rely on for gigs.” remarks Alexander Azzi, aka Atroa, a touring dubstep DJ and producer. “traxPad is stable and sounds great on a big system. There’s almost no lag when I load and manipulate tracks, unlike other DJ apps that I’ve tried.”

traxPad also has a reputation for generating excitement and curiosity on the dance floor. “I recently DJ’d a club with traxPad and people kept taking pictures and asking questions about it.” observes Joel Pryde, lead developer at PhysiPop. “With all the excitement, it actually made it hard to DJ!”

For a limited time, you can buy traxPad for the introductory price of $29.99.
