Projet Home Studio has announced the launch of Mastering en Home Studio (Mastering in Home Studio) — which contains a total of almost 6 hours of video split into 9 chapters teaching you how to master your mixes autonomously in a home studio context.
When I started mixing and mastering my own songs, I always thought my sounds were less powerful than the professional masters. It was never sounding like a polished product. Also, of course I was aware that I was supposed to use EQs, compressors and limiters during the mastering process, but I didn't know in which order and to do what. This "Mastering en Home Studio" training, it's simply the one that I wish I had received when I was a beginner, in order to quickly enhance the sound of my songs.
Adrien Perinot, Founder of Projet Home Studio
Proposing a simple and structured method, this French-language training (level: beginner or intermediate) contains of course some theoretical elements but is above all based on concrete practice: using 5 downloadable mini-songs, the teacher Adrien Perinot shows you which actions you can do to correct all sorts of problems, while teaching you how to listen to them.
The following topics are addressed:
- Explanation of the usual mastering processing chain;
- Tracks preparation, ordering and edition;
- Frequency balance correction;
- Macrodynamics management;
- Audio glue and punch management;
- Precise correction of mix problems;
- Stereo image management (including the use of mid/side tools);
- Analog coloration;
- Limiters/maximizers usage;
- Loudness metering and exports towards streaming platforms;
- Export methods.
The training "Mastering en Home Studio" is available as of today in three different editions:
- Basic (80€ until 11/25 then 120€) — the video training with the raw tracks only;
- Standard (110€ until 11/25 then 150€) — similar to the Basic edition, but also including a bounce of a mix using an analog compressor as well as the access to a private Facebook support group;
- Pro (140€ until 11/25 then 180€) — similar to the Standard edition, but also including a custom mix critique.
