Sonic Scores Music Software

Sonic Scores has updated Overture and Score Writer to v5.5.3.

Enhancements:

  • Exported MusicXML files now have the .musicxml extension.
  • Added importing and exporting of Multi-Rests in MusicXML.
  • Added importing and exporting of multi-line text.
  • Improved inputting slurs when drawing them in as set in preferences.
  • Lightened the grey color on muted notes, to not be confused with notes in another voice being displayed in grey.

Fixes:

  • Fixed crash when pasting symbols that extended past end of score like hairpins, slurs, etc.
  • Made change when exporting MusicXML scores with blank measures to accommodate Dorico.
  • Fixed a few beaming problems especially when pasting.
  • Fixed problem dragging Hollywood Lines.
  • Fixed problem with Title Page Text on blank pages.
  • Fixed problem when pressing 'end' key, the window did not scroll enough to show the last measure.
  • Fixed occasional problem when pasting, that caused beamed notes to need re-beaming. (e.g. 16ths were showing up as 8ths).
  • Fixed two layout bugs that prevented staves from being dragged close to surrounding staves disobeying staff spacing layout settings.
  • Fixed a bug that caused ossia staves to overlap staves, when first entered.
  • Fixed a problem where auto spacing was called with Options > Auto > Space Notes not checked.
  • Fixed problem where In Data View>Score View, pencil entry produces a note higher than expected.
  • Fixed crash when dragging the header in panel for expression text.
  • Fixed problem requiring reactivation.
  • Fixed bug using keyboard shortcut ';' in step input to tie selected note to previous note.
  • Fixed bug when setting split point in Preferences Dialog.
  • Fixed occasional crash when dragging text on blank pages.
  • Fixed Explode Track bug on piano staves.
  • Note: In this case the top staff is exploded into two tracks and the bottom staff is exploded into two tracks.
  • If there are two voices in the track each voice is extracted onto a new track.
  • If not, then it works as described in the dialog.
