Sonicism Digital Audio Solutions has released Sonicism Vintage Vocoder v1.0.2 build 3 as a free product. It was originally a commercial product published by Sonicism Digital Audio Solutions in 2002 when it retailed at £25.99 but has now been donated to Source Forge under an Open-source GPL licence. It was used for the robot voices and sound effects in the computer game Freelancer.
Sonicism Vintage Vocoder is available for Windows as a DirectX effect plug-in. Development of VST versions for Windows and Mac OS X is under way.
